Deep Disappointment and Frustration in The Prime Minister’s Recent Statement

The Prime Minister’s recent statement on the First Anniversary of the October 7 Attacks, and failure to acknowledge the atrocities and acts of genocide committed by the Israeli Occupation against innocent Palestinians, has caused deep disappointment and frustration among the Australian Muslim community and supporters of Palestine.

The Prime Minister, the government, political leaders, media agencies and all people must recognise the seriousness and the reality of the situation. In the past 365 days, the Israeli occupation has massacred more than 42,000 Palestinians, 70% of whom are women and children. Nearly 100,000 have been injured, while over 10,000 remain missing, either buried beneath rubble or abducted by occupation forces. In addition, since September 2024, Israel’s actions in Lebanon have resulted in the massacre of over 2,000 people, with nearly one million displaced, violating international law and causing widespread suffering.

The value of Palestinian and Lebanese lives is no less than that of any other, and Palestinians enduring suffering —now over 76 years— must be acknowledged and must come to an end. It is imperative that the Australian government takes a strong stand to end the genocide, war crimes, and illegal occupation that continue to devastate the Palestinian people.

We call upon the Prime Minister, the Australian government, political leaders and the global community to act decisively and recognise and end the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people.

Enough is Enough.

Enough of the genocide and war crimes.

Enough of the killing of Palestinians and Lebanese people.

Enough of the illegal occupation.
