Hon. Bob Carr
Biography
Bob Carr is Australia’s longest continuously serving state premier. He served as NSW Premier from 1995 to 2005 and as Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs from March 2012 to September 2013.
Bob Carr has a strong and long-standing record of advocacy for human rights and justice in Palestine. He has publicly supported the recognition of a Palestinian state and has called for an end to violence against Palestinian civilians. His advocacy includes urging stronger international accountability and justice for the Palestinian people.
He is an Honorary Professor of Climate and Business at the Institute for Sustainable Futures at UTS. He is a former Industry Professor (Business and Climate Change) at UTS (2019–2023) and former Director of the Australia-China Relations Institute at UTS (2014–2019). Bob Carr is the author of Thoughtlines (Viking, 2002), My Reading Life (Penguin, 2008), Diary of a Foreign Minister (NewSouth, 2014) and Run for Your Life (MUP, 2018).
He chairs an advisory group at Southern Green Gas and chairs Zeotech Limited, a mineral processing technology company with a focus on carbon sequestration. He is a board member of The Lysicrates Foundation and a Committee Member of the UNSW Matraville Education Program.
